Surroundings conducive to good living, or working must balance the needs of health, comfort, conservation and technology while supporting individuals aspirations.

The word ecology promotes images of straw baled houses, wind and solar farms, reed bed water recycling plants and compost toilets. All positive applications, however, the reality for most of our urban population is restrictive living and working spaces, economic budgets and planning laws. The majority of people live in homes built in the last 50 to 100 years. At Homepotential we consider practical, low cost and complimentary ecological solutions to incorporate into our design solutions. Natural paint and finishes, natural flooring and insulation are to name a few, it all helps.

There is a common belief that ecology = sustainable development = better world. Sustainable development includes alternative power supplies, eco-friendly housing and organic agriculture. Indeed these are all positive steps in the right direction, however, the problem is the demand for resources continually out paces technological advances.
